Treebeard Redline Hunter Guide

The current trait tree configuration.

As shown above, these are the current traits being used on my Redline hunter. The following traits I currently do not have include true shot and plant feet because True Shot only gives a slight debuff which I felt I was better off Spending those points in Impact Arrows for more ranged damage and Survival Gear to increase my physical and tactical mitigations which are very important for raids and other high level group content. Plant feet meanwhile gives a very slight evade chance increase when you stand still for 1.5s which is not always possible in raids because sometimes you have to move around depending upon what the raid strategy calls for. Not to mention that with capped physical and tactical mitigations you can survive most blows received inadvertently.

The following traceries are currently what I use.

As seen in my two legendary items, my traceries are focused on induction bow damage and critical and skills associated with such skills. For example, Quick shot is used to build focus, heart seeker is used off cooldown, and rain of arrows is nice for when you need a burst of AoE damage. I have my critical rating capped from other sources therefore, I used Heroic Alacrity to get my Finesse rating as close to capped as possible. With the addition of a new word of power slot at level 95 I have recently added Skill induction speed to help increase damage per second or DPS. However, I still use the single target attack damage and attack critical because the Hunter is mainly single target focused and getting those traceries is a must for hunters.

Skill Rotation

Rotation starts: Focus->Camouflage->Burn Hot->Swift Bow->Heart Seeker->Upshot.

Use quick arrow to build up focus and then spend on either penetrating shot or pinning shot if you want to slow your target down. Use blood arrow if you want a quick little heal otherwise just use Upshot as shown above. When the target is low health build up focus using quick arrow and the above rotation and then use merciful shot to try and finish off the target.

The following items are verry useful in raids and other high end group content.

The above items are used every time I go into a raid or other such group content. For example, I will eat food, pop scrolls, and pop hope like normal, then I will use a fire oil or light oil depending upon the circumstances and what the enemies are weak too as well as a bow chant. Then if I need to increase my focus and devastate magnitude, I will use that pot in the heat of the battle usually when a Captain uses Oathbreakers or a Mariner uses Breaking of the Thangorodrim and I have burn hot active.

Conclusions

While there may not be much aside from scaling raids and instances at level 95 this is basically how I approach red hunter at almost every cap with small updates to my trait lines when I get more trait points to spend and with updated traceries when needed with the same overall focus. Getting gear and stats capped is very important for this build to work as intended because without being stat capped or leaving stats almost capped you cannot take full advantage of the power of redline hunter. However, once capped and following the basic skills rotation and raid strategy you should be able to help and contribute as a damage dealer in most any raid.
